Lucky Day

Two posts in one day? Hot dog!
So I'm bored because I skipped a meeting that I didnt really have to attend and got out of class early because we had a test. An easy peasy rice and cheesy test. Or so I hope.
AND I don't have to work till 2:30. Woo hoo!

Soooo, I made some delicious whole wheat spaghetti with garlic, zucchini and tomatoes that I stole from here ( www.cuisinenie.blogspot.com). And I found that from this (www.nieniedialogues.blogspot.com). And I read it daily and I love it oh-so-much. You can also link to Nie's blog from a button that is on my page. Anywho... the spaghetti was delish and was a very nice healthy lunch. Now I think I will head off to the store to get some brown-sugar to make some whole wheat pear granola muffins. Yum yum!

Aaaannnddd maybe do some homework if I have time.

Sick

It is now Monday and my hopes of shaking this cold by Sunday have all since faded.
I guess thats what happens when you work with eight runny noses, eight drooley mouths and eight sneezy noses in mid-November. What did I expect? And me, being the queen of sick was bound to get it sooner or later. Sigh, all the vitamins in the world couldn't help my immune system.
Anywho, yesterday was a bit of a dissapointment. I didn't end up going to the thrift store I wanted because it was on the other side of the river in downton Portland and I wasn't up for the trip. So I went to Goodwill. No shoes. But... they had some really cool silver platters and gravy boats and such that just needed a bit of polishing. I was going to get them but then I realized, "hey, you don't have a house yet. Where are you going to store all of this for the next two years?". Mike, work harder so that you can get a promotion, move back home and get us a house. And... practice putting up Christmas lights. Ha ha ha.
I am still a little bummed about coming home with no antiques or vintage shoes but I didn't come home empty handed. I did find Christina a great present at Pier 1 Imports (which is now my new favortie store). I also got Mike's Christmas package done and a little present for Bryan.

So all and all Sunday was a little bit productive... except for the fact that I didn't get any homework done... or cleaning.

Cheers.

Ok so I just realized that it might be helpful to know names. Christina is my best friend who I met at work but doesn't work there anymore. I love her to death and we are still really close. Mike is my other best friend. I've known him since like seventh grade but we've only been friends for two years. He is in the Air Force and stationed, obviously, not at home. I think thats all I can say about him because of disclosure issues with the AF. Oh and Bryan is Mike's other best friend from home who just happens to be in the AF with him and stationed with him. Confusing?

Sunday Morning Antiques

It is a Sunday. It is a cold Sunday in November. And I am sick.

To make myself feel better I am going to go shopping. But not just any kind of shopping, I am going antique shopping. I am feeling the need for some vintage shoes. And maybe some antique jewelry. Oooh or even antique wall art. Who knows what kinds of goodies I will find.

But if I don't find a good pair of vintage shoes, I might just have to go get a cute pair of vintage red pumps that I saw at Ross. Just to make me feel better.

Today will also be a day of homework, spending time with The Deez, making Mike's Christmas stocking and starting his Christmas package.

And maybe a bit of room maintance (I think all the dust in my room is making me cough more. Silly Asthma).

Today shall be a good day. A day with a lot of task accomplishments... hopefully.

I hope that your Sunday is just as productive. I will let you know what sorts of vintage treasures I find.

Puppy Love

This is Diesel.

A.K.A Deez, The Deez, D, Mr. Bungles, Tinker and Moose.

Diesel is a year and a half.

Diesel is 1/2 Black Lab and 1/2 Rottie.

Diesel is ADORABLE.
Diesel is HANDSOME.
Diesel likes to sit pretty.

Diesel likes to nap all day and get very frisky at night when mommy wants to sleep.

I love my Tinker very very much.
I love him even when he has a lot of "tummy issues" and emits an unpleasent odor in the middle of the night.
I love him even though he likes to whine a lot.
I love him when he cuddles in my lap.
I love him when he makes a grunting noise because I told him to sit down.
I love him when he's excited to see me and his little... erm big... butt is wagging back and forth uncontrollably and ends up knocking things off the table.
I love him oh-so-much because he is oh-so-handsome and oh-so-smart.
